Announcement:
I’m very appreciative of everyone who has read my horoscope column. What started out as an experimental and self-directed practice in writing now needs to transform. As I enter the new year, there are new arenas to explore, time and energy constraints, and a greater feeling that the the world too is changing. After some reflection, I’ve decided that I will be putting my newsletter on a semi-hiatus, meaning I will send posts on a whenever-I-want-to-basis 😊. I have paused all payments for any subscribers, and all readings will also be on pause for the first quarter of the year. I hope that when I do send out newsletters they will be filled with a curiosity and excitement that comes from the time I spent in my own world. I’m so grateful that you’ve come this far with me.
All my best for 2025, horoscopes below xoxo
Emilia
2025 will be a year of many new beginnings and changes, in both our personal lives and in world-wide events. To enter into this period with the ability to adapt, we must first fully recognize where we are in the present.
I wrote the following when I described what 2024 would be like.
an explosion of pleasure, agrarian revolution, avalanche, pop rocks
multitasking hell, two-timing, encyclopedic ecstasy, overthinking
seeing the results of delusional behavior, sobering up, waterproofing, getting reprimanded by your dream, deboning a poem
collective/group/ideological beginnings, new generational divides, critique over content, technological existential dread
Did any of these resonate for you?
Different times of the year brought various energies into focus. I was centered on sobering up for the early part of the year, but now at the beginning of 2025, I am recovering from exhaustion from multitasking hell and trying not to succumb to existential dread. However, with hindsight on what transpired in 2024, I realize that I didn’t fully understand what ways these energies would combine together to begin a destabilization process. From the viewpoint of this current moment, I can see the imminent paradigmatic shifts in the lives of my friends and family. Jupiter and Saturn’s square this year has been asking many of us to examine the ways our lives have changed since the end of 2020. What are the things we want to and can accomplish? Where do we need to have faith and where do we need to begin to eliminate and simplify? For some of us, it’s time to take a break from what it is we have been cultivating the last four years, so that we can really dream big with what is possible in our lives. I believe that 2024 paved the road for some large movements and big off-road turns that will appear in both this year and the next.
Here are the main events of 2025:
Venus Retrograde in Aries and Pisces March 1 - April 12: Stepping back, undoing the illusion, courage to be vulnerable
Mercury Retrograde in Aries and Pisces March 14 - April 7th: communication confusion around aforementioned Venus themes, editing your burning letter
Neptune enters Aries March 30th - October 22nd: the glory of battle, illusions around force, the myth of the lone wolf
Saturn enters Aries May 24th - September 1st: Pressure to fight, standing alone, gritting one’s teeth, headbanging, headaches, beheadings, deconstructing the image of the warrior, playing with fire, The Fool
Jupiter enters Cancer June 9th: Chosen family, homecoming, sweet reunions, relational healing, oceanic feeling
Jupiter squares Saturn June 15; Jupiter square Neptune June 18: solo journey vs nesting at home, healing vs grinding onwards, belief grounding action
Uranus enters Gemini July 7 - November 7th: communication overload, network mind, hyper-speed interstate, hive mind gossip tunnel, butterfly roller-skates
Virgo - Pisces Eclipses (Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo March 13th, Total Lunar Eclipse in Pisces September 7th, Partial Solar Eclipse in Virgo September 21): balancing between grain and the horizon, how to grow holistically as a person, searching for the dream beyond daily grind, giving up ideas of perfection for a quotidian transcendence
Partial Solar Eclipse in Aries March 29th: final decisions and movements around bravery, choosing one’s self, turning desire into action, departure from people-pleasing

horoscopes
Capricorn
The biggest challenge in 2025 may lie in the burial of the dream of a perfect home life and the subsequent commitment to making something that still might work. The last few years with Saturn in Pisces have loosely been about the ideals in which you define belonging and the process of building language for your experience, and this year, you will make even more concrete developments in this arena. For some, it may be a spiritual-creative journey, for others, it has been an exercise in boundaries. This year, it may feel like a flip switches on. In the latter half of the year, starting from June, you will have tremendous fortune and the possibility of healing in committed relationships and collaborations.
Aquarius
The biggest challenge this year may be related to a kind of unendingly dissolving structure in your everyday life. It might be a gas pipe on your street that requires months of construction, but it could also be the larger concept of translation and communication. You’ve also been hard at work figuring out how to iron out the kinks of money inflow and outflow, and while it’s felt like a grind, things haven’t shifted in a dramatic way — yet. Events this year may occur to illuminate your beliefs around sustenance, survival, and your ability to provide. You can expect a nourishing kind of pleasure in the arena of health and your daily routines.
Pisces
This year, you will experience what it feels like to have claws. Claws that can grasp and puncture, claws that can penetrate the ground. Claws may be used to grab what’s yours, trim the excess, pierce through veils. You’re the hunter and gardener all at once, sometimes wild and fast, sometimes just at home snipping away at the overgrowth, Edward Scissorhands-style. With the eclipses in your 1st and 7th house after Saturn’s stay in Pisces, there may be times this year when you feel like your identity is under attack, a spiritual confrontation that requires you to show your training. Jupiter in your 5th house signals the possibility for romantic connections, creative explorations, and maybe a new relation to mothers and motherhood.
Aries
Next year you will continue to be under the microscope of the universe. The eclipses this year shook up your self-conception. Next year, Mercury and Venus will retrograde together in your sign in the spring, and then right afterwards Neptune and Saturn will both enter your sign. You’ll need to be flexible with what you believe, and also less deterministic about how to get things done. If you’ve really relied on just barreling through problems, the upcoming year will continue to highlight the importance of surrender. You are being called into a new level of maturity.
Taurus
In 2025, you will be called into quietness. Solitude at times may remind you of the ways you have had to fight, be angry, stand on your own. Or rather, how your angry was stripped from you, sanitized and defanged. When Saturn and Neptune make their way into Aries, you’ll need to figure out how the visions from your time alone may haunt you, and how you can make friends with the crooked parts of yourself. The eclipses moving into Pisces and Virgo will jumpstart new stories around creativity and collectivity that you’ve building up to for the last few years, and Jupiter in Cancer in the latter half of the year will allow for new ways of communication and sweet trips around your neighborhood.
Gemini
This year will present many opportunities for you to reimagine community. After the eclipses of the last year, Saturn and Neptune will both enter into the friendship sector of your chart to ask for a more realistic assessment for how you can connect and move with the groups of people in your life. At the same time, the eclipses will move into your 4th and 10th houses, meaning that the ways you have been trying to build up your professional life will be supported by some big changes and an accrual of more momentum. Jupiter will enter your 12th house to allow for more healing and peace and nourishment in the space of your solitude and in meditation in the latter half of the year.
Cancer
2025 may feel like a final boss battle, but your opponent is a kind of mirage, made up of voices from your past. This year, you are dealing with filiality, the sequencing of stories, and what it means to come from a father. The goal, even if a bit stale as a story, is to become your own dad. It will be a year of some healthy outbursts and invigorating challenges, even if a bit daunting. The eclipses will move into your third and ninth, and the research and writing projects you have been slogging at will get some energy. Jupiter coming into your first house in June signals a lot more flow and good fortune in your own endeavors and self-concept for the latter half of the year.
Leo
This year will be characterized by movement. You will need to examine where the energy comes from and where the energy pools. As Saturn and Neptune move into this sector of your house, you’ll see yourself grow a bit more weary or discerning, and in this process, you’ll be defining new models and frameworks for the world you are building. Another element of the year is the focus on health and work. This may be a very grindy year, to complete or encapsulate the last few grind-y years. Jupiter enters into the 12th house, allowing for a sense of solitude to be healing and nourishing.
Virgo
Your investments will show their returns this year. Circumstances that arise will ask you to be bold and direct about what type of intimacy you need or what contracts/mergers you will make. If you’ve been on a sinking ship or a wobbly branch, you will need to cut some things loose. In the new world, the new you may not have the extra strength to carry onwards with burdens that are not yours. Eclipses this year will make big movements in your relationship life and in intimate collaborations, and Jupiter in your 11th house allow for a feeling of belonging in your community in the latter half of the year.
Libra
This year, you are working on what it means to advocate for yourself in relationships. The world you are meeting this year sometimes is hard to read, or sometimes hard to bend, which means that you must advocate for yourself even more. This doesn’t mean to go on a fiery crusade, but to simply move quietly out of spaces that can’t support you. The eclipses this year signal that you are also moving into a rather busy period, that will ask you to be extra careful about your lifestyle and health. Jupiter moving into Cancer brings extra luck and fortune in your career affairs in the latter part of the year.
Scorpio
This year, Saturn and Neptune move into the arena of your work and health, and with their entrance, you are initiated into a reckoning around the amount of energy you have. You don’t want to bend yourself out of shape, proving to the world you can do it all. That’s not the point. You’re here to live a very human life, and that’s incredible in itself. The ways we reckon with our own bodies and the mundane existence of the everyday is its own revelation. The eclipses move into your 5th and 11th house, and the work you’ve been putting into your creative growth and discipline show ripples in the world above. Jupiter in Cancer brings you into further study and engagement with the world around you. If there is the possibility for travel, a publication, a lecture opportunity in that time, it would be a good time to seize it.
Sagittarius
Saturn and Neptune move into your 5th house and you are dealing with a kind of dissolution of structure in your creative life. It might be a time where you choose a more monastic existence or ruminate on the possibilities of barrenness, emptiness, and solitude. At the same time, the eclipses move into your 4th and 10th house, and the ways that you have been struggling around home, housing, and belonging receive a pathway forward. Additionally, Jupiter in Cancer creates a smoothing out of intimate relations, connections, collaborations, and shared investments.
