A month is a disturbingly long time. It hides within the folds of the weeks and days too many innumerable mini dramas that take place, resolve, or dissipate into background noise.
Within the space of the last month, I think about where did the texture of reality fall short of the ways I desire beauty, connection, harmony? Where are the pressure points where expectations, obligations, beliefs in “should” and “should not” meet and rub against the reality of the body and the reality of joy?
In the last month, did you find escape and healing love? I found them in novels, Korean dramas, fantasizing about strangers on the subway, in mountain hikes and giant ocean waves, … and in conversations with friends, who remind me that in this world of disconnection, we are blessed to find people who want to create a different world together.
Aries New moon, 04/01
Sun-Chiron-mercury Cazimi 04/02
This new moon carries an especially heavy feeling, especially as Mars approaches Saturn. You may feel frustrated not being able to fight or move as quickly as you want to. The moment calls forth a place of grief and loss, of felt inadequacy or failed agency, of actions that could not be taken, or were taken too quickly and impulsively. Make time to reflect on this moment, what it teaches you about your tenacity, bravery, and fight to survive and for your life to make sense.
Week 1 April 4 - 10
Mars conjoin Saturn April 5
Venus enters Pisces April 6
Mars also finally conjoins Saturn, beginning a new cycle of looking at one’s challenges and frustrations. Don’t be too hard on yourself this week and remember to take one step at a time.
Venus entering Pisces initiates a period of sweetness, emotional and spiritual connection, and romantic gestures.
Week 2 April 11 – 17
Mercury Enters Taurus 11th
Jupiter conjunct Neptune 12th
Mars in Pisces April 15th
Libra full moon 04/17 – square Pluto
Mercury already finishes its quick tour in Aries and now enters Taurus. Since the ruler of Taurus, Venus, is in her exaltation, there is a lot of possibility for poetry, beautiful language, writing, sensual exchanges in communication, travel into nature. Sweet treats, gifts, singing.
Really big all throughout this month is the exact conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune, which comes exact this week. These planets conjoining begins a new cycle around fantasy, spirituality, relation to the esoteric in the world. There can also be increased deception and illusionary things. Although this can manifest positively, even in visions of the supreme divine or rapture by angels, one must be careful of Neptune. If you have placements in late Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces, and have been under a hard Neptune transit already, this placement can exacerbate the sense of being lost, adrift, or confused.
Mars also enters Pisces now, warming up the arena of dreams, emotional connection, and spiritual journey. In this area, things transform from a sensual buffet of dreams and visions to a movement, a striving towards something.
The full moon in Libra is a dramatic one. There is a confrontation of something revealed in a social beauty and harmony, that whether it knows it or not it influenced by new insights and experimentations. At the same time, this revelation is in relation to a deeper broiling, a witnessing of power currents that underlie the situation. This full moon seems both extremely beautiful in a fragile, in a special moment in time kind of way, and kind of aggressive.
Week 3 April 18 – 24
Mercury in Taurus conjunct Uranus sextile Venus in Pisces 18th
Sun squares Pluto April 19th
Sun enters Taurus April 20th
Saturn square nodes April 21
Mercury square Saturn April 24th
This week begins as a full moon hangover, and then switches abruptly into Taurus season. As it moves into the new sign, we stand clearly in eclipse season. Saturn is square the nodes, and so we are surrounded by the heavy stench of responsibilities and obligations.
Week 4 April 25 - 30
Mercury sextile Neptune April 25th
Mercury Sextile Jupiter 27th
Mercury Trine Pluto 28th
Venus conjoin Neptune 28
Mercury enter Gemini /Pluto retrograde 30th
Eclipse season begins end of month with Taurus New Moon at 10 degrees – Venus in Pisces conjoin Jupiter, sextile Pluto
Mercury in Taurus branches out, connects the dots between many of the brewing poetry and spells lying around. Then Venus, naturally, in the still active sextile, moves through similar movements, conjoining Neptune, and Jupiter and then sextile Pluto.
