august horoscopes
Learning is the only way to survive. With Jupiter in Gemini, it’s all the more important to keep an open mind for where inspiration or the answer might come from.
In August, Mercury is retrograde through Leo. Jupiter squares Saturn on the Aquarius Full Moon. Everything comes in strides, punishment and party. But maybe, more exacting and precise than fervent and festive, we find ourselves at a crossroads.
The Leo New Moon on the 4th has the Sun and Moon sextile Mars and Jupiter in Gemini. There’s so much to say, and there’s the means to do it. This is a time to sow the seeds of confidence, self-expression, and play.
Mercury’s retrograde in Virgo to Leo starts on the 4th/5th until the 28/29th. This period is focused on making space for new ideas of yourself. It may be time to be more objective in your self-image.
The Aquarius Full moon on the 19th/20th is very dramatic, proofing your mettle for change. Various and different sectors of your life could be coming to a head at this point. A rejection or sobering may lead you to become a crusader, while an evidence of contradictions between logic and heart might point to intractable fault lines.
If you’re feeling not so great from the 14-17th, it may be because of the Mars-Saturn square which will be stopping motion on all projects temporarily. Absorb the shock and let yourself be like jelly.
August is not the end of the world, but it feels like the end of something. Negotiations allow shifts, and you take off a layer. See you in September.

horoscopes (focusing on Venus in Virgo, Mars and Jupiter in Gemini, Saturn in Pisces)
Leo: at the heart of a new dream, the autonomous art that dreamt itself, unlay equivalencies, the maps are scrambled for a big dream in small bites, short trips, you can leave him behind.
Virgo: the temple and statue are the proof of an everyday life, art as secondary, stinginess coming from a perceived inner dryness, there is the possibility to go to the rooftop, or else the invitation to fly
Libra: happy improvisation, happily rendered, willingly, an example opportunely, proofed on a ledger, greased through its degree, large thesis in pickled words, sundried against disease
Scorpio: a tension between the uses of language, between reason and texture, go far, further, not at the sunset, but after it is already dark
Sagittarius: the translation of intention and the translation of sound, rooted in unconscious life, which itself will translate conscious intention, the world has a big round cherub face, ruddy and rosy, the face of an angel hides in itself dimples of deception that titillate
Capricorn: The rhythm of the plastic line, dance and theater, there is always maintaining to do, Chaplin-esque, hanging the laundry or rewriting the script, legs whirring around, no journey pays off without an internal accounting, you know the cost quite adequately.
Aquarius: “the pen that writes, the water-shoot that rises and falls, the statuette condensing outside itself…” (from Aisthesis by Jacques Ranciere); dancers’ legs carry their own weights, becoming your own instrument, its maintenance and its body.
Pisces: digging your heels in, no possible overtures for nation or sky, just home-building, home-un-building, braiding, excuses unexcusing, retired and the mouth is full of a long poem, tongue-twister, sonnets, chimera
Aries: circling around neighborhood flowers, buzzing to beats, unhappy to fight maybe, but happy to argue, words climb over each other into pots and pans, overflowing grease, there is no way to find the gopher in the ground with those pincers for hands
Taurus: things are imperfect, rudely so, a weird unhappy romantic comedy filled with sabotage and manipulative behavior, but we laugh somehow at the curls bouncing off her perfect face, do words match their presentation? anger is messy, but at least its direct.
Gemini: oh, the places you will go. you won’t have time to sit down, you won’t want to lie on the bed of nails, it’s so moist everywhere, won’t the sun get drier? once you leave the room, the curtains can sigh, the exposition and the stage directions, no daydreaming behind the business of stars.
Cancer: revolver, head turns, fast-paced shots of the moon, dreams that have their own legs and weapons, insults that are accompanied with a pouch of fairy dust, nothing sits on the surface when the wind blows, you have bones to grow, lawns to de-fence, many merries, a big bag to carry, and a long night to walk.
