This year has gotten away from me, wandered off away from the jetty, smashed into the rocks by waves and left behind for the crabs to scavenge.
December is not really fun. This month is a reflection on stuck-ness, or the importance of not moving all too fast, not towards a direction, not towards resolution nor closure. Part of the signature of the month feels like getting a passive aggressive remark, and having to sit with it. There is no retaliation yet. At least it’s not advised. Mars is turning retrograde on the 6th of December and traces its way slowly through the early degrees of Leo.
For those with early Leo/Aquarius/Taurus/Scorpio placements, it’s a sign of the season you are coming into, as Pluto now has entered Aquarius more fully. Are you reconfiguring the space between intimacy and distance? From what position would you have the most control?
I’m sending this after the Sagittarius New Moon, which has a sobering quality to it. There are dreams seeded for the future (Mercury in Sagittarius retrograde opposing Jupiter in Gemini), but for now, you have to face the fact that there’s no immediate solution, there are mountains that still need be shoveled away, iciness that covers up all the hinges and doors and numbs your fingers, all the holes in your clothing that need to be patched up by hand.
The sobriety leads to the Gemini full moon on the 15th. This one occurs contemporaneously with Mercury’s direct station. Jokes that became riddles become proverbs. We begin move out of a kind of crunchy, difficult period of relational turmoil.
The 18th to the 20th seems to be most ideal period this month for getting together, sharing ideas, inspiring hope and visions, as Venus in Aquarius trines Jupiter in Gemini.
The Capricorn new moon on the 31st inspires us to commit to goals that align with our values. However, it occurs under the influence of the Mars retrograde approaching its opposition to Pluto. The exact transit perfects on January 3rd. This period at the bend of the year shows where the anger that has been simmering, the expectant slap, may finally meet its subject. But the caveat is that with Pluto, there may always be a bigger game at stake. You may be too focused on your own boundaries that are crossed. In an eagerness to right a wrong, you may have neglected to watch out for larger angers, powers that have been building up behind the scenes. All of this goes to say that in December, don’t be too caught up in getting the things you want, that you forget to account for other larger obstacles that exist, simply as part of the nature of this world.

2025 will be a wild year… a lot of changes, revolutions, new dreams and new ways of dissent. I’ll be back in a few weeks with horoscopes!
